One of the key advantages of the STAR chain is a centralized product delivery system, managed by a big logistics center. Our objective is 100% centralized commodity circulation based on automatic control and mathematical calculation of optimal commodity flow.

Presently, we have two distribution centers in Yerevan, which ensure centralized supply of 65% of goods to our 13 supermarkets. Quite recently we repaired our head distribution center and provided it with modern shelving and load-lifting equipment, which helps us to effectively handle huge cargo flows and makes it easier for suppliers to deliver goods to our distribution center. The automated system of commodity circulation control helps us to always keep a weekly stock, which means that the goods we sell in our supermarkets are always fresh. We check up the quality and the shelf life of goods upon reception at the distribution center. Now that we are actively enlarging, we are planning to build a new distribution center in Yerevan. The center will be designed and built by world-renowned architectural companies, to be selected through an international tender.

The opening of the new center is scheduled for late 2009. Outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment and managed by up-to-the-standard personnel, the new center is supposed to boost the further growth of the STAR chain. We have also purchased a fleet of new trucks so as to be able to make our goods available in any corner of Armenia.
